Century Casinos Gets Project Approval

Century Casinos recently received the go-ahead from Rocky View County in Alberta, Canada to develop a racetrack and casino to serve the north and northwest Calgary markets, which do not have casinos. Construction is expected to start soon.

Century Casinos recently received approvals from Rocky View County in Alberta, Canada to proceed with its Century Downs Racetrack and Casino project. The development previously was granted a racing license from Horse Racing Alberta. The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission also approved the project and will issue a final casino license after it concludes a final inspection. Groundbreaking and construction are expected to begin soon.

Century Downs Racetrack and Casino will visitors from both the north and northwest Calgary markets, which do not have a casino. It’s ideally located less than one mile north of the city limits of Calgary and 4.5 miles from the Calgary International Airport, with an exit off the Queen Elizabeth II Highway, one of the most heavily traveled highways in western Canada connecting Calgary and Edmonton.
