Century Casinos Launches in Poland

Century Casinos, whose Casinos Poland Ltd. subsidiary got government permission to relocate one of its Warsaw casino licenses, opened its new gaming hall last week at the Hilton Hotel.

Established casino site is much larger

Casinos Poland Ltd., a unit of Century Casinos, opened its new, larger casino June 9 at the Hilton Hotel and Convention Centre in Warsaw. The space was formerly occupied by Olympic Entertainment Group’s Olympic Casino Sunrise.

The company was approved by the Polish Ministry of Finance to relocate its second Warsaw gaming license to the new location. The casino features 70 gaming machines, 24 gaming tables and a bar and lounge area, reported FTN News. At 17,000 square feet, its gaming floor is the largest gaming floor in Poland.

“We are excited about this new location and believe it has the potential to contribute significantly to Casinos Poland’s successful performance,” said Century Casinos’ co-CEOs Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger in a statement.

Century Casinos, Inc. is an international casino company that owns and operates resorts in the U.S. and Canada and hold a 66.6 percent stake in Casinos Poland Ltd., the owner and operator of six casinos there. The firm also runs 13 casino cruise ships and has interests in Aruba and Argentina.
