Century Casinos Inc. last month opened the long-awaited Century Casino in Bath, Somerset, UK, with a red carpet celebration attended by over 1,000 guests.
This is the company’s first UK venture. It has casinos in the U.S., Canada, Austria and Poland. It will serve a market based in the tourist town of Bath, which has a population of about 200,000.
The three-story casino has 15,000 square meters of gaming space, including 34 slot machines, roulette, 24 automated gaming terminals and 14 live gaming tables. It has three bars, including a balcony lounge overlooking the Theatre Royal which will be devoted to VIP gaming and private parties.
Century CEOs Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger commented, “We are delighted about the opportunity to enter the UK gaming market with the addition of the Century Casino Bath to our international portfolio of successful casino operations. We believe the casino in Bath has the potential to provide an attractive return on our investment.”
