Century Casinos Inc., based in Colorado Springs, Colorado, recently announced its Polish subsidiary won license renewals for the seven casinos it operates throughout Poland and also was granted a license for an eighth gambling venue.
Century officials said the seven Polish casinos temporarily had been closed while awaiting license renewal approvals. Six are back in operation and the remaining two will reopen soon. Officials said the closures would “significantly” impact Century’s second-quarter financial results.
Century operates casinos in Cripple Creek and Central City, Colorado; Calgary and Edmonton, Canada; and Bath, England; as well as aboard 13 cruise ships. The company also owns a horse racetrack in Calgary with another under construction in Edmonton. Century also has interests in casinos in Argentina and Vietnam.
