On May 30, Century Casinos opened a new gaming floor at its casino at the Marriott Hotel in Warsaw, Poland. The casino is operated by the company`s majority-owned subsidiary, Casinos Poland Ltd.
The newly created 4,000-square-foot gaming floor includes 15 gaming tables, 20 slot machines, two VIP rooms and a bar and lounge area. The casino is now offering a total of 35 gaming tables and 70 slot machines on a total gaming floor of approximately 12,000 square feet.
“We are excited about the substantial increase in the gaming offer of our Polish flagship casino and believe it will further strengthen Casinos Poland’s successful performance,” said Erwin Haitzmann and Peter Hoetzinger, co-CEOs of Century Casinos in a joint statement.
Poland generated 43 percent of the company’s total revenue and 28 percent of its EBITDA in its last quarterly results.
“Our Polish business was negatively impacted by licensing delays between Q4 ’17 and Q3 ’18,” Hoetzinger said. “We’re glad that things are now back to normal in Poland and look forward to generating high EBITDA margins going forward. Already things are moving in the right direction. The EBITDA margin in Q1 was 12 percent, up from 9 percent in Q4 2018.”
