John Chaszar recently was named general manager at Tropicana Evansville in Indiana. Chaszar joined Hollywood Casinos in 2001 and held several hotel management positions, including general manager at Baton Rouge, St. Louis and most recently in Riverside, Missouri. Before joining Hollywood Casinos, Chaszar received a bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management from Michigan State University and spent 16 years in various management roles at Hilton Hotels.
Tropicana President and Chief Executive Officer Tony Rodio said, “John brings a proven track record in casino hotel management and strong leadership to his new role at Tropicana. He also has an impressive background in community involvement and outreach in the jurisdictions where he has worked. His experience and dedication to the community will serve Tropicana Evansville and the Evansville business community well.”
Chaszar replaces Jason Gregorec, who joined the company in April 2014 and left in May to become corporate vice president of gaming at Rock Gaming in Detroit.
Tropicana Evansville is a $110 million entertainment facility that includes a 2,700-passenger riverboat casino, 250-room hotel, 96-room boutique hotel, executive conference center, 1,660-vehicle parking garage and Riverfront Pavilion with retail shops, restaurants and lounge area.
