Cheyenne and Arapahos Begin Expansion

The Cheyenne and Arapaho Tribes recently held a groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion of the Watonga Lucky Star Casino in Watonga, Oklahoma. The project will include a new 5-story, 80-room hotel, restaurant, conference center, retail and an expanded gaming floor with 400 additional slot machines. Work is expected to be completed in summer 2020.

Tribal culture influenced the design of the building, according to New Fire Architecture.

Cheyenne and Arapaho Governor Reggie Wassana said, “This expansion solidifies our mantra, ‘Tomorrow starts Today,’ and shows the commitment to our tribal members and economic growth for the northwest quadrant of Oklahoma. I am very proud of our capabilities and our staff for all they do to make our vision for the future come to fruition.” He added, “Hahou to all our patrons and soon to be your play and stay experience. This is just the start of many possibilities for a brighter future with the continued support of our tribal people and local communities.”
