Chile Casino to Open in March 2016

Argentine-Spanish investor group Boldt Peralada has announced that its Ovalle Casino and Resort (l.) in Chile will open next March. A soft opening is set for February 2016.

Largest private investment in region

A casino under construction in Ovalle in the Coquimbo region of Chile is almost half done and will be complete in December, say investors.

The Argentine-Spanish investment group Boldt Peralada has stakes in four other casinos, two in Brazil and two in Argentina, stated a news release. Work on the Ovalle casino began in 2014. The project will create 300 jobs and 1,500 part time positions.

“This private investment is very important for us as we continue to strengthen growth in tourism,” said Ovalle Mayor Claudio Renteria. “I thank Boldt Peralada, because together we are able to develop our community.” The consortium has invested US$50 million in the casino resort, the largest private investment in the history of Ovalle, according to the release.
