Chile’s superintendent of casinos held a public hearing last week for operators who want a license to do business in the South American country. “Under this new legal framework … we hope to achieve (an) objective, transparent process and ensure greater revenue collection for the treasury, regions and communities,” said Daniel Garcia in a statement.
According to CalvinAyre.com, Chile accepted technical bids from April 20 through April 24. It will review the technical background of each proposed project and verify the worthiness of each would-be operator.
Chile now has 12 casinos in 10 cities. The largest is in Vina del Mar, with 90 table games and more than 1,500 gaming and slot machines. Coquimbo has two casinos, four slot machines, and 10 table games.
