Chile to Ban Non-Casino Slots

The Chilean government has unanimously approved a bill that would ban slot machines outside casinos. There are an estimated 33,000 illegal slots now operating in the South American country.

The government of Chile has unanimously passed a bill that would prohibit the operation of slot machines outside legal casinos.

“A study conducted by the Catholic University in 87 communes in 2016 showed that in Chile there would be more than 33,000 machines that are operating out of the law,” said lawmaker Alejandro Navarro. The bill would ban all machines outside “enabled establishments,” he added
