Chilean Casino to Diversify Into Non-gaming

Chile’s Sun Monticello casino has announced it will increase its commitment to diversifying into non-gaming businesses.

The casino, described the “flagship” of Sun Dreams, that the casino will invest in more dining and family entertainment.

General Manager Manuel Rojas told Games Magazine, “Sun Monticello is carrying out investments that will allow us to enhance the 360 degree experience and reinforce our position as an entertainment place with everything included in the local casino industry.”

The casino will add the Carpentier restaurant, led by Chris Carpentier one of the most recognized celebrity chefs in Chile. They are also building a Starbucks and Burger King.

“While gaming is an important pillar in the casino industry, the non-gaming area is growing more and more. We are all making greater efforts in this segment,” said Rojas.

In 2017 the casino unveiled a $20 million investment plan which has three phases, construction of the Gran Arena Monticello events center; the first gaming-bar in Latin America, and the addition of 400 to 500 new slot machines to the 2,000 existing ones.
