Nevada-based China Railway International anticipates breaking ground on a proposed 230-mile high-speed rail line that would be called XpressWest.
China Railway officials hope to break ground on the estimated $100 million project in September 2016 that would connect Las Vegas and Los Angeles and give the state-owned company a foothold in the U.S. high-speed rail market and stay ahead of the Japanese.
The XpressWest project is the most recent to take shape that would connect Las Vegas and Southern California, boosting tourism in Las Vegas while reducing traffic between the two cities and being more environmentally friendly.
