Chinese Lottery Almost At Capacity

The Chinese sports lottery was working at 75 percent of full operation as of March 19, after being closed for 49 days due to the Covid-19 outbreak.

On March 11, China’s National Sports Lottery Center gave the OK to resume operations. By the 17th, more than 110,000 sports lottery terminals had reopened, representing more than 67 percent of the nation’s total installed units. The Sports Lottery offers traditional draw games as well as opportunities to win in the Football Lottery.

In order to restart lottery sales, retailers were required to undergo online training in how to disinfect their shops and install detectors to monitor customers’ body heat. Customers were required to register before being allowed to purchase lottery products.
