Chochon Joins WSOP

Gregory Chochon, former head of poker for BarrierePoker.fr in France, has joined the Las Vegas office of Caesars Interactive’s World Series of Poker. The role of director for the WSOP is newly created.

Caesars Interactive Entertainment, Inc. announced last month the hiring of Gregory Chochon as director, World Series of Poker, a newly-created position to help grow the WSOP brand and assist the company’s efforts to identify and take advantage of synergies within the offline and recently launched online WSOP portfolio.

Chochon will report to WSOP Executive Director Ty Stewart and begin immediately to develop strategies and find opportunities to continue to push the WSOP brand globally.

“We are pleased to bring someone whom we have worked with for years externally into the internal WSOP family,” said Stewart.  “Gregory brings a wealth of experience, tremendous relationships throughout European gaming venues and operators and even some much needed French flair to our Las Vegas office.”

Gregory brings a decade of marketing and managerial experience working with a number of distinguished gaming organizations.  He played an integral role in the WSOP and Barrière partnership, including the execution of three WSOP Europe events in France.

“It is a dream come true for me to join the World Series of Poker team and move to Las Vegas and work out of the legendary Caesars Palace,” said Chochon.  “The WSOP is the most historic and trusted brand in poker and I look forward to the opportunity and challenges this position will offer me.”

Previously, Chochon spent more than five years with France’s Lucien Barrière Group, where he was Head of Poker for the French online poker portal, BarrierePoker.fr.  Prior to that role, Chochon was Barrière’s Group Poker Manager, charged with development of all poker-related activities at the Barrière Group’s 37 casinos, including the organizing all the poker tournaments.
