After a 4-month closure due to Covid-19, the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians are reopening their Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, Mississippi in phases. The Bok Homa Casino and the Golden Moon Hotel & Casino have reopened. A reopening date has not been set for the Silver Star Casino, connected to the Golden Moon by a pedestrian bridge.
Pearl River Resort President and CEO William Johnson said, “We are excited to welcome our guests back and look forward to safely providing them with outstanding service and a comfortable gaming experience.”
Johnson said before entering the property, guests’ temperature will be scanned. Once inside, social distancing and face masks will be required.
Johnson noted at designated times, sections of each casino will be closed for cleaning. Guests may only enter through the front door and exit through the side doors. Also, he said smoking only will be permitted at special outdoors smoking areas.
In addition, Bok Homa Casino Public Relations Director Erica Moore said special chip cleaning machines have been installed at the table games. “Those chips are cleaned and sanitized before you ever sit down,” she stated. Also, Moore said, slot techs will sanitize each machine prior to being played. “We have an air filtration system that we’ve installed. This place is going to be extremely safe for you to come into,” she said.
Bok Homa Casino Sportsbook Director Chris Hopwood noted, “We’ve added these crystal betting tables which have their own personal TV on them, so you can sit there and watch your game. It’s like a VIP experience.
You’ll be able to do the in-play betting on the screen itself just like our regular kiosks all our guests love that were here before.”
Lucky’s Restaurant only will provide take-out orders; no eating will be allowed inside the facility.
