A groundbreaking ceremony recently took place at the Choctaw Nation’s Grant Casino Resort in Grant, Oklahoma to expand the property from a 60-room hotel, two restaurants, travel plaza and smoke shop. Upgrades will include a new 96-room hotel tower with 23 luxury suites, a larger swimming pool and outdoor bar in a tropical garden, a 155-seat bar and grill, expanded buffet seating, a new coffee shop and redecorated lobby. The casino will offer a new poker room and 125 additional slot machines. The project is scheduled to be completed in July 2017.
Choctaw Chief Gary Batton said the expansion will create 80 new jobs. “We are wanting all of those to be tribal members, because we want to empower our tribal members to succeed,” he said.
City of Hugo Manager and Economic Development Director David Rawls said, “This is going to impact the city of Grant tremendously, as well as the city of Hugo and the county. I know how hard the Choctaw Nation works and the efforts they put in and I am very proud of them.”
