Chui Hou Ian has been appointed deputy director of Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau. Finance Secretary Lei Wai Nong cited his “professional ability and competence.”

On February 8, Macau Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong announced the appointment of Chui Hou Ian, consultant to his office and the Treasury Office, as deputy director of the city’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) for a one-year term.

“Chui Hou Ian’s curriculum vitae shows his professional ability and competence, he has been appointed as Deputy Director of Chui Hou Ian,” Lei said.

According to Asia Gaming Brief, Chui earned a bachelor’s degree in gaming management and a master’s degree in hotel management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. From 2006 to 2009 he worked in the private sector, then was appointed by the Macau government to represent Wing Hing Lottery Ltd. from 2020 to 2021. Also in 2020, he was tapped to serve as a consultant to the offices of the Secretary for Economic Services and the Treasury.

Chui was also a press liaison for Macau Chief Executive Ho Iat Seng’s 2019 campaign team.
