Churchill Downs Incorporated has announced the promotion of Michael Meagher to the position of senior vice president of gaming operations.
Meagher succeeds Maureen Adams, whose retirement was announced earlier in 2025. He will report directly to Bill Mudd, president and chief operating officer of CDI.
Meagher will oversee operations at all gaming and historical racing machine locations across the Churchill Downs portfolio. He will also have responsibility for corporate gaming functions, including analytics, marketing and product performance.
He takes on the role after serving as vice president of gaming operations since 2022. In this position, he oversaw nine gaming properties across CDI, including the development and opening of Terre Haute Casino Resort. Prior to that, he was vice president of finance for gaming.
Before joining Churchill Downs, Meagher worked in several leadership roles with Pinnacle Entertainment. These included vice president of operational excellence and regional director of planning and analysis.
Meagher ‘Instrumental’ for Churchill Downs
President and COO Mudd said Meagher has had a marked impact on the business in the senior roles he has held.
“Michael is a proven operator with strong financial discipline and a deep, hands-on understanding of our properties,” Mudd said. “He has been instrumental in shaping strategy and execution across our gaming portfolio, and his leadership will ensure we continue to build on our momentum.
“We’re confident Michael will drive continued growth and operational excellence across our gaming operations.”
