Churchill Downs Sues Daily Racing Form Alleging Illegal Bets

Churchill Downs Inc. which runs the Kentucky Derby, has sued the Daily Racing Form for allegedly illegally taking bets on the races at its racetrack.

Churchill Downs Inc., which owns Churchill Down racetrack in Louisville, Kentucky has sued the Daily Racing Form, claim that its online wagering service took bets illegally on races at the track during the weekend that it ran the Kentucky Derby.

The racing company states that it did not give Racing Form permission to accept the off-track bets. In its lawsuit the company points out that Racing Form doesn’t have permission to take off-track bets for any of its races and that violated the Interstate Horseracing Act by accepting wagers without approval.

The Racing Form offers a service to its readers that allow them to wager through it, although the bets are actually processed by a competitor to the service Churchill offers.
