Circa Sports Debuts in Las Vegas

The brainchild of Derek Stevens (l.), and hailed by the Downtown casino developer as a new concept in sports wagering, Circa Sports is open for business at the Golden Gate. It will be joined later this month by a second venue at the D Las Vegas.

Downtown Las Vegas casino developer Derek Stevens has launched his much-hyped new sports betting venture, Circa Sports, with the opening of its first location at Stevens’ Golden Gate Hotel & Casino.

“We intend to bring that old-school Las Vegas vibe to the floor, so there was no better place to bring this to life than in Las Vegas’ most historic hotel, Golden Gate,” Stevens said at an opening ceremony on Saturday, June 1, that was accompanied by the launch of a $1.5 million pro football contest and appearances by several of the city’s top bookmakers.

The 1,297-square-foot book, which features a high-tech video wall, LED boards and two betting kiosks, will be joined later this month by a sister location at Stevens’ D Las Vegas on Fremont Street.

The operation’s flagship will be at Stevens’ under-construction Circa Resort & Casino on Fremont Street. That book is being built on multiple levels and will feature stadium-style seating. A December 2020 opening is planned.
