Circa Sports Expanding into Colorado

Century Casinos is partnering with Nevada-based Circa Sports to provide a mobile betting for Century’s Colorado casinos.

The app is slated to debut this spring at Century Casino & Hotel Cripple Creek in Cripple Creek, one of three Colorado cities with full-scale gaming.

Colorado voters narrowly approved sports betting in November, and the state Division of Gaming currently is working on a regulatory structure to allow casinos to begin taking wagers as soon as May 1.

The Cripple Creek venture is the first outside Nevada for Circa, whose owner and chief executive, Derek Stevens, operates Circa-branded sports books at his Downtown Las Vegas casinos the D Las Vegas and the Golden Gate. He also plans to offer a more expansive version at a casino hotel he is developing Downtown that is scheduled to open in December under the Circa name.

The 15-year agreement calls for receive a market access fee, a share of the book’s net revenue with a minimum guaranteed annually.

Century also operates a casino hotel in Central City, Colorado, but reports last week did not indicate if Circa will be the partner there.

Nasdaq-listed Century also operates casinos in Missouri and West Virginia and internationally in Poland, the UK and western Canada.
