Caesars Entertainment Corporation recently was recognized by Civic 50, a Points of Light initiative, for improving the quality of life in communities where it does business. Caesars also was included on the most recent Civic 50 list, issued in 2014.

Caesars Executive Vice President of Government Relations and Corporate Responsibility Jan Jones Blackhurst said, “The Civic 50 recognizes Caesars Entertainment’s broad-based commitment to corporate responsibility, including our environmental concern, economic development and volunteerism, employee well-being and ethical business conduct. We are humbled to be in such remarkable company, and grateful for the recognition of our positive business and societal impact.”

Caesars’ citizenship strategy include:

  • HERO employee engagement initiative through which employees volunteer more than 200,000 hours annually.
  • The award-winning CodeGreen environmental program, focusing on the dramatic reduction of waste, water and carbon emissions.
  • The Responsible Meeting program that allows customers to host eco-friendly events with sustainable options.
  • Commitment to diversity: 41 percent of property and corporate managers are women, and 36 percent of property and corporate managers are minorities
  • Investment in community: the Caesars Foundation has donated more than $70 million to local non-profits.

The Civic 50 is the only survey and ranking system that exclusively measures corporate involvement in communities. It was developed in partnership with a high-profile working group of researchers, industry thought leaders and corporate advisers who provided strategic guidance on the program’s objectives.

Jennifer Lawson, executive director of the Corporate Institute at Points of Light, said, “Since 2012, we have seen a notable shift in the results from the survey in a direction that speaks to the commitment of American companies to connect values of community service and civic engagement to the culture and operating practices of their business.”
