Clarion Events Sold to Providence Equity

The organizer of the ICE Totally Gaming and EiG trade shows was acquired by Providence Equity for approximately US$300 million.

Clarion Events, producer of next week’s ICE Totally Gaming trade show and the EiG internet gaming conference, has been acquired by Providence Equity, an investment group specializing in media, information and education industries.

Providence Equity is expected to invest strongly in ICE Totally Gaming, but the fate of EiG, which has not done as well financially as projected, is less clear, according to a report in iGaming Business.

Clarion organizes more than 200 events worldwide covering several diverse industries.
