Clark County to Host Formula One Grand Prix for a Decade

The Clark County Commission February 7 voted unanimously to host the Formula One Las Vegas Grand Prix for at least a decade, maybe more.

Commission Chairman Jim Gibson told the Las Vegas Review-Journal, “We anticipate a lifetime together in partnership.” He added, “This will open the pathway to be able to do it for at least 10 years. Beyond that I’m sure those who succeed us will see the volume in what we’ve done and continue it forever.”

The first Grand Prix, a 3.8 mile, 50-lap race, will be held at night November 16-18, 2023 along Las Vegas streets in and around the Strip. Top speeds will be 212 mph.

The County will work with racing officials each year to iron out the details of traffic. The race is being put on by Miller Project Management.

A paddock area to include driver pits, start and finish line and VIP spectator areas will be built at Harmon and Koval Lane.
