Cleveland’s Horseshoe Morphing Into Jack Casino

All of the old Caesars Entertainment properties in Ohio are changing their “Horseshoe” designation and being rebranded as JACK casinos or racinos. They are being taken over by Jack Entertainment, formerly Rock Gaming.

Is it lucky to throw away a horseshoe? The former Horseshoe Cleveland Casino last week will soon find out. It began the transformation into Jack Casino by taking down the casino’s signature horse on top of the parking structure.

It will be replaced by “Jack” signs, as in Jack Entertainment, which was formerly known as Rock Gaming. Jack Gaming is also taking over management of Horseshoe Cincinnati and ThistleDown Racino from Caesar’s Entertainment.

The replacement will be a 750 square foot sign emblazoned with JACK Casino in white letters on a red background.

The big horseshoe at the top of the parking structure is just one of many horseshoe symbols and horse references that will be excised from the property.

Casino Manager Mark Tricano observed, “One of the things one of the things the property did well was to incorporate the Horseshoe brand and mindset into the property,” said casino manager Mark Tricano on Friday. “It is a lot of work to transition out the logo.”

The transition of the ThistleDown from old owner to new took place over a 24-hour period during which the racino was closed. The casino is expected to take closer to 40 hours.
