Closed Edgewater Casino Holds Auction

The Edgewater Casino in Vancouver, British Columbia recently held an auction of poker tables, roulette wheels, office furniture and supplies and more to in-person and online bidders. The casino closed September 29, the same day the new $600 million Parq Vancouver Casino opened across the street.

An auction was held on November 7 at the Edgewater Casino in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The casino permanently closed on September 29, the same day the new 0 million Parq Vancouver Casino Hotel Resort opened across the street, adjacent to B.C. Place.

The casino sold 70 commercial grade poker, roulette and baccarat tables, more than 1,000 gaming chairs, 70 televisions, restaurant equipment, office furniture, lockers, patio tables and more to in-person and online bidders seeking bargains and mementos.

The largest private development in B.C., Parq Vancouver features two luxury hotels,(JW Marriott and the Douglas with a total of 517 rooms, plus eight restaurants and bars and 62,000 square feet of conference space. The gaming floor offers 600 slot machines and 75 table games—the same as the Edgewater Casino. Operators Paragon Gaming wanted double the amount of gaming machines but Vancouver city officials rejected that proposal.
