CNIGA (California Nations Indian Gaming Association) has a new deputy director of operations: Ambar Mohammed, taking the place of Susan Jensen who has been promoted to executive director.

California Nations Indian Gaming Association (CNIGA) has hired a new deputy director of operations: Ambar Mohammed.

Several vacancies in personnel have been created by the recent promotion to executive director of Susan Jenson, who had been director of operations.

Mohammed comes to CNIGA from the Colusa Indian Community Council, where she was director of executive affairs. She is also lead administrator for the Tribal State Compact Steering Committee, which has 27 members.

Jensen praised the new deputy director: “Ms. Mohammed’s background in Indian Country will be an asset to CNIGA and its member tribes as CNIGA continues its transition to the next phase for California’s Tribal Government gaming industry” she said. “Ms. Mohammed has a strong understanding of the dynamics in tribal governments that will provide for a smooth transition into her role and responsibilities at CNIGA.”

Mohamed has a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of California Davis.
