Computer Issues Shutter Ho-Chunk Casinos

In Wisconsin, five Ho-Chunk casinos reopened after unexpectedly closing Thursday, August 26 through Monday afternoon, August 30, due “a major computer systems failure,” according to the Wisconsin Dells location’s Facebook page.

All of the property’s amenities were closed during the shutdown except for the hotel and RV Park. The casino posted regular updates throughout the closure on its Facebook page. The cause of the computer failure hasn’t been stated.

Besides Wisconsin Dells, Ho-Chunk Casinos in Wittenburg, Tomah, Black River Falls ad Nekoosa were affected.

John Phillip, executive manager at Ho-Chunk Gaming in the Wisconsin Dells, wrote in the past, “Our IT and management team worked tirelessly since Wednesday night to get us up and running again. I do want to publicly thank them for a herculean effort. Additionally, while this was going on, we took the opportunity to deep-clean the entire property.”

Ho-Chunk Gaming in Madison remained open, however in a Facebook post Monday, August 30, the venue reported issues with some of its Rewards Club Card functions, including Rewards Play and earning points. Some of the other Ho-Chunk venues reported similar issues; in addition, some also informed guests certain promotional offers scheduled for the weekend would be extended or rescheduled.
