The Congressional Gaming Caucus, a bipartisan group of lawmakers that focuses on gaming industry policy, has been reestablished with co-chairs Rep. Dina Titus (D-NV) and Rep. Guy Reschenthaler (R-PA).
The two issues in their sights include increasing the tax reporting threshold on slot machines from $1,200 to $5,000 and jettisoning the federal excise tax on sports betting.
Rep. Titus in a statement noted that sports betting is legal in 33 states. To help it grow, some anachronistic tax laws should be eliminated, she said.
“I look forward to working with Rep. Reschenthaler and our colleagues in a bipartisan way to help well-regulated gaming markets flourish and incentivize economic development,” she added.
