The Connecticut state lottery has temporarily suspended sales and payouts for the 5 Card Cash game because some retailers may have personally benefited from intentionally manipulating the reporting mechanism on the lottery terminals. Lottery officials did not name the retailers or explain how the terminals were manipulated. The state is investigating.
CT Lottery President Anne Noble said “integrity is paramount,” and that new software is being installed to “further enhance the security features of the game.” She added sales and payouts will resume soon on 5 Card Cash, which resembles poker and costs $2 or $3 per game to play. Other lottery games were not affected.
