Connecticut’s Foxwoods Announces Renovations

Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut announced plans to renovate and redesign the Golden Dragon restaurant, open an exclusive Canopy Players’ Lounge and rebrand and relocate Dunkin’.

Foxwoods Chief Executive Officer Jason Guyot said, “As we continue to embark on our journey of becoming a completely integrated resort casino, each new renovation project reflects our dedication to enhancing our on-property guest experience. From stunning architecture and décor to innovative world-class dining, we truly are just getting started and could not be more excited to continue building upon the Foxwoods legacy in 2022 and beyond.”

Golden Dragon, to be located in the Grand Pequot Tower, will offer seating for 110 guests and open in winter 2022. Plans include an elaborate Asian-inspired entryway with a pagoda roof layered with gold and bronze dragon scale shingles. Chinese-inspired furniture, opulent décor and rich textures also will distinguish the space.

The new Canopy Players’ Lounge, located in the former Veranda Café, will open in July, blending existing architectural features with new modern millwork and decorative lighting, overlooking the Connecticut woods. At 7,000 square feet, the lounge will be the largest in Foxwoods history, with 225 seats and a 15-seat bar.

Dunkin’ also is scheduled to get a refresh to reflect the brand’s updated design.
