Gary DeWitt Jr. has been named assistant general manager at Mohegan Sun Pocono in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. A 25-year veteran of the gaming and hospitality industries, DeWitt has been a consultant for the property in the past year. Before that he was instrumental in the spring 2017 opening of ilani, Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment’s partnership with the Cowlitz tribe of southwest Washington. In his new position, DeWitt will focus on the casino, hotel, security and facilities departments.
Over his career, DeWitt has held senior positions at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond, Indiana; Hollywood Casino in Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Argosy Casino and Hotel in Riverside, Missouri; and Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway in Dayton, Ohio, where he was vice president and general manager.
