Continent 8 last week reached separate agreements with two suppliers—SBTech and Playtech—that will increase the company’s influence in many parts of the world.

Mutual growth through partnership is being celebrated by Continent 8 Technologies and Playtech this week following the signing of a global partnership agreement at the industry’s annual ICE exhibition in London.

This agreement builds on a highly successful relationship spanning over 20 years in which the companies have partnered to spearhead global expansion initiatives and collaborated to deliver world-class infrastructure and software solutions into global regulated markets.

Signed February 5 at ICE London 2019 by Mor Weizer, CEO/executive director of Playtech and Michael Tobin, CEO and co-founder of Continent 8, the multi-year agreement continues the 20-year partnership between the global leaders and delivers a platform for further expansion into emerging markets in 2019 across Europe, Asia and the Americas.

To support the industry, the partnership will see an increasing number of mutual customers and operators benefiting from an integrated solution designed specifically for iGaming. In recent years, Continent 8 has supported Playtech’s acquisition campaign by ensuring that technology alignment and integration are simplified to ease transition and integration activities.

Playtech partners with and invests in the leading brands in regulated and newly regulated markets to deliver its data-driven gambling technology across the retail and online value chain. Playtech provides its technology on a B2B basis to the industry’s leading retail and online operators, land-based casino groups and government-sponsored entities such as lotteries.

Weizer commented, “The partnership with Continent 8 Technologies has been central to our distribution strategy in emerging and newly regulating markets across Europe and the Americas. Playtech is renowned for its robust, reliable and industry-leading technology, and in our strategic partnerships we require that same commitment to the highest standards in the industry. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Continent 8 to achieve this.”

Tobin added, “We are extremely proud of the strong partnership that has grown between Playtech and C8 over the last 20 years, and we look forward to serving them through their global expansion.”

A day earlier, sports betting and iGames supplier SBTech secured multiple top-tier domestic partners in both online and on-property sports betting in the nascent U.S. sports betting market Success has been driven by the adaptability of SBTech’s products, demonstrated by the varying approaches of the group’s new U.S. partners across multiple states. Coupled with the recent recruitment of several of the industry’s most experienced and credible names, 2019 promises to be another exceptional year for SBTech.

Supporting this unprecedented growth, SBTech continues to entrust Continent 8 Technologies as its global data center and connectivity provider. In 2018, Continent 8’s U.S. multi-state capacities increased to include Mississippi, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, with upcoming locations in New York and Ohio. Continent 8’s seamless suite of hosting, security and network managed services is primed for those immediately entering the sports betting market in the U.S. and planning further growth as the landscape evolves.

“We have made an excellent start in the U.S. since the market went live in August last year, securing a series of key strategic partnerships across regulated states, with many more to come as other states begin to open,” said Richard Carter, CEO of SBTech. “We have an excellent relationship with Continent 8, and they will be a major partner of ours as the market continues to evolve and we continue to expand across the country.”

Tobin added, “We are delighted to support SBTech’s rapid growth, particularly in the ever-changing U.S. landscape. Continent 8 has been licensed and operating in New Jersey since 2014 and continues to add creative U.S. offerings. Spring 2019 will see the delivery of our independent, licensed data center in the state-owned Atlantic City Convention Center.

“This neutral hub will be connected to our global network and rapidly evolving U.S. multi-state presence, offering our full range of industry-leading services. This is an exciting time for sports betting in the United States. We are confident our dynamic, evolving solutions will enable SBTech and others to prosper in this growing market.”
