Baltimore-based Cordish Companies and the FanDuel Group have announced a strategic partnership that will place FanDuel Sportsbooks at all of Cordish’s gaming properties.

The first new retail and online FanDuel Sportsbooks Cordish will launch will be at two of its Live! casino properties currently under construction in Pennsylvania.

Stadium Casino, Cordish’s Pennsylvania subsidiary, has received permission from the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board to launch its online sports betting operation in Philadelphia before its Live! Casino and Hotel opens next year. The retail book at Live! Philadelphia is expected to be one of the state’s most lucrative, being located in the center of the city’s Stadium District, home to the stadiums and arenas of the NFL’s Philadelphia Eagles, MLB’s Philadelphia Phillies, the NHL’s Flyers and the NBA’s 76ers.

Meanwhile, Cordish plans a FanDuel Sportsbook at its Live! Casino Pittsburgh, also slated to open by the end of 2020 in a space formerly occupied by an anchor department store in the Westmoreland Mall outside that city.

“We are excited to partner with FanDuel to bring our customers the premier sports betting experience in the country, including unique promotions and sports engagement opportunities that will only be available at Live! properties,” said Joseph Weinberg, principal of the Cordish Companies.

“With 10 decades of experience, the Cordish Companies have created the model for world-class integrated sport, gaming, entertainment and hospitality destinations,” said Matt King, CEO of FanDuel Group. “This partnership allows us to capitalize on the incredible success of sport betting to date and brings FanDuel’s top sports betting operations to Cordish destinations across the United States.”

In addition to Pennsylvania, Cordish is pursuing sports betting and online gaming licenses in its Live! entertainment districts in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and elsewhere across the U.S.
