Club gets “more Vegas” as the night progresses
On Friday and Saturday, January 17-18, the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas marked the grand opening of its new social club, the curiously named Rose.Rabbit.Lie.
“Las Vegas owns a piece of real estate in the minds of practically everyone in the world,” said Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin at the opening. “We like to take a look back and try to find the romantic parts of that real estate and bring them back in a modern, relevant way.”
Rose.Rabbit.Lie. is a blend of bar, restaurant, nightclub and show, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, and an “immersive” experience for patrons, according to the creators.
Each evening begins at 8 p.m. with a 90-minute revue blending vaudeville and acrobatics. A second, shorter show follows at 10 pm., after which the space transforms into a dance club with DJ.
“They get more Vegas as the night goes on,” said show director Wayne Harrison. “We might start the evening with a nice chardonnay and by the end of it we’re kind of throwing down the shots. It’s a more communal experience.”
Cosmopolitan CEO John Unwin said the club will attract “the curious class,” a group of patrons who are not defined by age. “It’s more of a psychographic than a demographic,” said Unwin. “It’s more your spirit and sensibility. It’s not meant to be for everyone.”
