Creek Nation Plans Golf-Themed Complex

The Muscogee (Creek) Nation will build a $22 million golf-themed entertainment complex in south Tulsa, directly across the Arkansas River from the tribes River Spirit Casino and Margaritaville development. Located at the RiverWalk Crossing, the project will offer an indoor electronic driving range, family activities, restaurants, sports bar and meeting rooms.

Muscogee (Creek) Nation Principal Chief George Tiger recently announced the tribe soon will break ground on a million golf-themed entertainment complex at the RiverWalk Crossing in Jenks, Oklahoma, a southern suburb of Tulsa. The 20-acre property, located directly across the Arkansas River from the Creek’s River Spirit Casino and Margaritaville development, will feature high-tech golf including an indoor electronic driving range, family-oriented games, restaurants, a sports bar and meeting space.

Tiger said the tribe will give $11 million for the project and investors will provide the other $11 million. “There’s nothing like it in the state of Oklahoma,” Tiger said.

Creek Nation purchased RiverWalk Crossing, built in 2005, for $11.5 million in 2012 after it went into foreclosure. With few businesses currently located at the center, Tiger said the new project will result in “a new, improved Riverwalk Crossing and a great partner for Margaritaville.”
