Crown Resorts Names Poynton to Board

Crown Resorts has appointed a new non-executive director, John Poynton AO to the Crown board, to fill the seat left by James Packer’s resignation.

Crown Resorts has appointed a new non-executive director, John Poynton AO to the Crown board.

Poynton was nominated as a Director by Consolidated Press Holdings. He is already a Director of Burswood Limited, the subsidiary that operates Crown Perth, the company said in a press release.

Away from gaming, he is the chairman of Jindalee Partners, Strike Energy Limited and SC8 Limited. He is a member of the Future Fund Board of Guardians, Australia’s sovereign wealth fund and is on ECU’s Security Research Institute Advisory Board.

“We are delighted that John has agreed to join the Crown Board to fill the vacancy created by James Packer’s resignation,” said Crown’s Executive Chairman, John Alexander. “John is an experienced director having previously served as Chairman, Deputy Chairman and Non-Executive Director of a number of ASX listed companies, Federal Government boards and education institutions. He will make an excellent addition to the Crown Board.”
