CSCEC To Build South Korea Casino

One of the world's largest construction firms, China State Construction Engineering Corporation, has been selected by Lotte Tour and Chinese real estate firm Greenland Group to build a $600 million casino resort in Jeju Island, South Korea. The project will include the island's tallest building, the "Dream Tower," and a foreigners-only casino.

Lotte Tour and Chinese real estate company Greenland Group have selected China State Construction Engineering Corporation to build a 0 million 38-story casino resort in Jeju Island in South Korea. The development will feature the “Dream Tower,” the tallest building on the island, with a foreigners-only casino with 400 slots and 200 table games, plus 1,626 hotel rooms and retail. Work will begin next month and be completed in March 2019.

Lotte Tour Chief Executive Kim Ki-byung said, “We expect to create some 2,200 new jobs, and will make it the place that offers highest wages in Jeju Island.” Greenland Group’s Korea Corporation Chief Executive Officer Hwang-Min-gang added, “We will let as many companies as possible in Jeju Island take advantage of moving in to the building. We expect the project will help revitalize the local economy.”

One of the largest construction firms in the world, CSCEC’s annual sales in 2014 were $141 trillion. The company has built more than 5,600 projects in 116 countries, including Shanghai World Finance Center and Hong Kong ICC Tower. Currently CSCEC is building China’s second-tallest building, Greenland Center, in Wuhan.
