Cypress Bayou Reaches 25-Year Milestone

Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel in Charenton, Louisiana, owned by the Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana, recently celebrated its 25th anniversary. It began as Chitimacha Bayouland Bingo and has had an economic impact of nearly $1 billion dollars, including $670 million in salaries and benefits, $202 million to Louisiana vendors and millions to local charities.

Cypress Bayou Reaches 25-Year Milestone

The Chitimacha Tribe of Louisiana recently celebrated the 25th anniversary of its Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel in Charenton, Louisiana. The milestone was observed by casino officials and representatives of local government agencies and regulatory bodies.

Cypress Bayou Director of Public Relations and Advertising Richard Picard noted, “It is through the continued patronage of our guests, the dedication of our team members, the long-lasting partnerships with our vendors and support from the surrounding communities that we have been able to provide world-class entertainment at such an unprecedented level.”

Picard said the casino will celebrate the anniversary with the $125,000 Anniversary Giveaway. “This is a prime example of our commitment to delivering an unparalleled entertainment experience to the communities in which we serve,” he said.

Over 25 years, Cypress Bayou has grown into a vast entertainment complex from its beginnings as Chitimacha Bayouland Bingo. Numerous expansions and renovations have provided jobs for local contractors and citizens. The property has had an economic impact of nearly $1 billion dollars, including $670 million in salaries and benefits, $202 million paid to Louisiana vendors and millions of dollars donated to local charities, Picard said.
