The Gaming and Casino Supervision Commission of Cyprus has announced that the republic’s first three casinos, operated by Melco Resorts & Entertainment, have drawn almost 500,000 people since they opened last June and generated €210 million (US$236 million) in revenues.
According to the Cyprus Mail, 80 percent of visitors were Cypriots, 4 percent Greeks and 11 percent from other countries. The first temporary casino opened in Limassol in June 2018, followed by Nicosia and Larnaca in December. The permanent Limassol casino, City of Dreams Mediterranean, will open next year.
