Craps, roulette and keno debuted at 8 a.m., July 1 at casinos in Deadwood, South Dakota. Voters approved the games in the November 2014 election. Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association, said the new games could increase annual revenues by about $2 million.

Casinos in Deadwood, South Dakota began offering keno, craps and roulette at 8 a.m., Wednesday, July 1. Voters approved the new games in the November 2014 election by a margin of 14 percent, as a way to help make the town’s casinos more competitive. All of the games will have a ,000 wagering limit.

Mike Rodman, executive director of the Deadwood Gaming Association, said overall revenue at Deadwood casinos has remained flat in recent years, but the new games could increase annual revenues by about $2 million. “We are just absolutely excited that the first big change in 25 years of Deadwood gaming is addition of these three games–craps, roulette and keno. From a national perspective it really makes Deadwood a true gaming destination that makes us able to compete on a national basis with other gaming jurisdictions” Rodman said.

Cadillac Jacks General Manager David Schneiter noted, “The games give us the ability to compete with the other markets in Iowa and Colorado that do offer these same types of games.”

The Indian Gaming Regulatory Act and Class III gaming compacts also allow Indian casinos to offer the new games. However, tribal casinos that offer only Class II games, particularly electronic bingo machines, may not install or offer the new games.
