The temporary casino structure for American Place in Waukegan, Illinois, is now complete so the possibility that it will be ready in December.
Alex Stolyar, the senior vice president and chief development officer for American Place owner Full House Resorts, told the Chicago Tribune that attention now turns to the details.
“They’re connecting utilities and pouring the concrete floor,” he said of the 75,000-square-foot building. “They’re getting it up so we can bring in the gaming equipment.”
He says the opening has be slightly delayed as a result of several issues.
“There were complications as we went through the approval process,” he said. “We had supply chain issues like everybody else in the casino business and it is taking longer than expected.”
The temporary casino will feature 50 table games and 1,000 slot machines, along with three restaurants, other food options and a large bar. The permanent casino will have “significantly more” slots and tables, as well as a boutique hotel with 20 luxury suites as large as 2,500 square feet, as well as a 1,500-seat entertainment venue.
He also said Circa Sports will run the property’s sports book, the first for the company outside of its home base of Nevada.
