Delaware Park Reopens Racing with Spectators

Delaware Park opened its racetrack on June 17 with a 10-race card, headlined by the $100,000 Obeah Stakes for fillies and mares. In a further loosening of Covid-19 restrictions by Governor John Carney, spectators were permitted in the track to watch the action, with social distancing and enhanced safety protocols in place.

The first day’s card attracted 119 entries, 12 of whom were entered in the 1-1/16-mile Obeah, a prelude to the July 11 Delaware Handicap, according to The Bloodhorse.

Live racing will continue in Delaware through October 17, with cards on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Thursdays will be added July 16 through October 1.
