Delta Corp. to Run Sikkim Casino

Bombay-listed Delta Corp Ltd. announced late last month that it has been licensed by the Sikkim government to operate a casino in the Indian state. It will develop the gaming hall at the Denzong Regency Hotel (l.) in Gangtok.

90 days to open

Delta Corp. Ltd., India’s largest gaming company and operator of three casino cruises, has signed a licensing agreement to operate a casino inside the Denzong Regency Hotel in Gangtok, the capital of Sikkim.

The space should be “casino-ready” in the next three months, the company announced in a statement. According to GGRAsia, the development establishes Delta’s footprint in the northwestern state; Sikkim is located in the Himalayan Mountains on the border of Nepal and the Indian state of West Bengal.

Delta Corp.’s current portfolio includes the Deltin Royale and Deltin Jaqk, which operate in Goa, and India’s first offshore live gaming casino, the Deltin Caravela. The company will soon launch its Daman operations, the Deltin, a land-based casino resort with 60,000 square feet of gaming space and up to 1,500 gaming positions.
