Denmark Establishes Monthly Taxation

Starting next month, licensed operators in Denmark will pay duties for online betting and casino on the 15th of the month instead of weekly. The amendment was agreed to in order to lower the administrative burdens on licensed operators.

In order to reduce the administrative burdens on licensed operators, Denmark will change the period of paying duties for online betting and casinos from weekly to monthly. The new deadline for licensed online gambling operators to file tax duties with the Danish Gambling Authority will be the 15th of each month, beginning in February.

In addition, the Gambling Authority will adjust license fees in accordance with approved online operators’ size and revenues.

Furthermore, the Gambling Authority stated it will penalize gaming arcades where slots and gaming machines have been tampered with. This is a follow-up to inspections at gaming arcades conducted last year by the Danish Tax Authority, which found irregularities in the slots and gaming machines at about half of the arcades.
