Canadian system supplier DEQ Systems Corporation has named former Tropicana accounting executive Christopher Benak as the company’s new chief financial officer.
Benak previously served as vice president of corporate accounting and assistant treasurer for Tropicana Entertainment in Las Vegas, since 2009. Prior to that, he held various and diversified roles within a variety of organizations and industries.
“Chris’ casino operations and equipment manufacturing financial experience will be an instant asset to the executive team,” said Joseph Bertolone, president and CEO of DEQ. “Chris brings both gaming savvy and a publicly traded company experience set that will be the foundation for strong financial leadership and controls to support DEQ’s growth. His presence in Las Vegas will anchor the company’s operations here and provide a basis for future expansion.”
Benak replaces Martin Audet, who will step down as vice president of finance on May 22. “Martin has done a wonderful job at DEQ, said Bertolone. “We appreciate his stewardship and commitment to DEQ. We wish him well as he embarks on his next career challenge.”
