Detroit’s three casinos reported revenue increases of 7.4 percent increase in April 2014 compared to April 2015, the Michigan Gaming Control Board reported. Year-to-date revenue through April rose 5.9 percent. As a result, Detroit picked up gaming taxes of .8 million from the three casinos in April 2015, up from .1 million in April 2014.
By individual casino, MGM Grand Detroit’s revenue increased 10.4 percent to $51.8 million in April 2015 compared to April 2014. MotorCity Casino Hotel posted a 6 percent increase for April 2015 with $40.5 million in revenue. And Greektown Casino-Hotel’s revenue grew by 4.1 percent to $28.2 million in April 2015 versus April 2014.
MGM Grand’s market share rose to 43 percent, with MotorCity at 34 percent and Greektown at 23 percent in April.
