Dion Cancels Vegas Shows

Citing family illness, the superstar songbird has announced she will cancel all scheduled performances, including those at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, through March 22, 2015. Dion’s husband and former manager Rene Angelil is battling cancer.

Singer Celine Dion has left the building, at least for now.

The chart-topping French-Canadian chanteuse has announced she will postpone all her show business activities indefinitely to focus on her husband Rene Angelil, who recently had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.

Her own throat health issues had forced Dion to cancel scheduled shows in Las Vegas; her last show was July 29.

“I want to devote every ounce of my strength and energy to my husband’s healing, and to do so, it’s important for me to dedicate this time to him and to our children,” Dion said in a statement.

“I also want to apologize to all my fans everywhere, for inconveniencing them, and I thank them so much for their love and support. I also appreciate the understanding of my long-term partners AEG and Caesars Entertainment during this difficult time.”
