Donaco International Ltd. has announced the appointment of Lee Bug Huy as its new chief executive officer. Lee is among the Thai vendors of the land where the company’s Star Vegas Resort in Cambodia sits.
The appointment of Lee, whose full name is Techatut Sukcharoenkraisri, was effective September 3, with the former vice president of gaming and casino management at Star Vegas replacing recently departed Paul Arbuckle in the role.
Lee will remain an executive director of the company, joined by two new Australian-based, non-executive directors in Andrew Phillips and Issaraya Intrapaiboon.
Chairman Mel Ashton and director Simon Vertullo have resigned from the board, with Paul Porntat Amatavivadhana the new non-executive chairman.
“We are focusing on our strategy to move forward and build Donaco to its highest potential,” said Amatavivadhana.
“We are also extremely pleased by the appointment of Lee Bug Huy as our new CEO, who brings considerable expertise in the casino and gaming industries. Lee is highly regarded in the gaming and leisure industry and we are confident his experience and drive will lead Donaco forward once the casinos will be fully operational.”
Earlier this month, Donaco reported a loss of AU$59 million for the 2020 fiscal year. It is awaiting the reopening of its casinos in Cambodia and Vietnam.
