Australia-listed Donaco International Ltd. says it has won a court injunction to shut down gaming operations at the Star Paradise casino in Cambodia. According to the Phnom Penh Post, Donaco says the Paradise operated in violation of a non-competition agreement it signed when it bought its Star Vegas property in Poipet.

The casino is operated by the former owners of the Star Vegas, who agreed when they sold the property in 2015 that they would not offer gaming at the neighboring resort.

The Banteay Meanchey Court of First Instance in Cambodia has issued an interim injunction against Thai businessman Somboon Sukcharoenkraisri and his sons.

The injunction requires the Star Paradise to cease operations; Donaco says it will withhold its final payment to the vendor of AUD19 million (US$14.8 million), the Post reported.
